about

We are releasing this single to raise funds for a charity that is close to our heart. All proceeds from the sale of this single will go to Sobell House, a local hospice.
Sadly, our singer David Kay died from melanoma soon after recording our EP. He and his wife received amazing support from Sobell House during his last illness.

Each of these items reflects a real person's name. In the first piece, a traditional Irish love song, Ned is Eamonn Na Chnoic, a 17C Robin Hood style figure of Irish folklore. Hector is Major General Sir Hector McDonald, a much decorated 19C Scottish military hero, and the haunting tune was composed by James Scott Skinner. Aly Bain wrote the second lively tune for his dancing youngest daughter, Sophie.

Vocal: David Kay
Guitar: Chris Mills
Fiddle/whistle: Dominic Wilkinson
